Indspire is seeking exemplary Indigenous high school leaders to apply for the 2019-2020 Ted Rogers Scholarship Fund (For Indigenous Students). This is a $2500 renewable award for students entering full-time studies in a first two-year college program or a first four-year undergraduate program at a Canadian accredited college or university in fall 2019. Applicants MUST have strong leadership and commitment in their school and/or community. The deadline is April 15. BCIT: March 7th at Flex time (for grades 10-12) Memorial University (Newfoundland): March 14th at Flex time (grades 10-12) Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) is hosting Open Doors, Open Minds, an Open House for students with Indigenous Ancestry, in Grades 10 – 12 in the Delta School District and Lower Mainland. The goal of this one-day event is to encourage students to consider Post-Secondary studies at KPU by showcasing programs and opportunities available. Last year’s event was very engaging. On Tuesday, April 30th, 2019 participating students will be going to the KPU’s Surrey Campus for a full scheduled day from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Students will be travelling to the campus by bus, and will be supervised by an Indigenous Education staff member. The students will be picked up and dropped off at two school locations in Delta: 1. Delta Secondary School: Pick up at 7:30 a.m. Return at approximately 3:00 p.m. 2. North Delta Secondary: Pick up at 8:00 a.m. Return at approximately 2:30 p.m. KPU welcomes Indigenous high school students on campus to: • meet current students and faculty members • listen to engaging keynote speakers • attend mock classes • learn about KPU's Indigenous Services for Students **Complimentary breakfast and lunch are provided FIELD TRIP FORMS TO FOLLOW, NEXT WEEK.
